The lower terrace of the garden at Casa Carotondo in Le Marche, Italy
Each holiday apartment has its own entrance and own outdoor space with table and chairs for al fresco eating. All apartments also have access to the internet.
A large terraced garden on two levels has been created for guests to use. The garden has stunning views of the Sibillini mountains. It faces south-west, however some shade is provided by the old oak trees that surround the property. The garden comprises paved and grassy areas as well as flower beds.
There are plenty sun loungers available.
A communal washroom is available to guests with a washing machine, sink, ironing board and iron. A small library comprising books, DVDs and games has also been set up.
We do have our own small patch of woodland, which we are slowly extending. Guests are welcome to stroll through this. It connects to other woodland areas inhabited by deer, boar and porcupine with numerous paths ideal for short walks. Beyond our 'patch' of land Casa Carotondo is surrounded by farm and woodland offering a tranquil setting for your holiday.
Five hectares of land are attached to Casa Carotondo. We have a young olive grove and a modest (due to the renovation work) vegetable patch. Some of the land is still awaiting development being either on steep ground or covered in bramble.
While we do not currently have a swimming pool, swimming is available close by at Lago di Fiastra, a lovely picnic spot surrounded by mountains. The town of San Ginesio, about ten minutes drive away, has an outdoor swimming pool and for inclement weather the town of Sarnano has an indoor pool.
Casa Carotondo is located in the hamlet of Cerreto, a community of about 50 households spread along a ridge-line. The nearby town of Sarnano has a wide range of shops to provide for most of your retail needs as well as a lively weekly food market. Local wine, cheese and oil producers have sales outlets close by and a number of excellent restaurants are located in the immediate vicinity offering dishes typical to the region.
